Job Description

Group Home or Community/Companion Patient Support Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic place a small home, or client’s home. Assist individuals to community-based activities also provide assistance and training to the individual in activities of daily living. Must be age 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or GED, and have at least one year of verifiable experience working directly with individuals receiving services in a medical, psychiatric, nursing, or childcare setting or working with recipients who have a developmental disability. Must have a valid Driver license and reliable transportation and pass a level 2 background check

Desire to enter the healthcare field to care for other people in need High school diploma or equivalent Ability to work with clients with diverse disabilities Must be Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), HHA or MedTech) Documents daily task; document medication administration Ability to pass local and federal background checks Med Tech Certificate or Ability to obtain one Obtained FL APD Training or Ability to acquire training Performing personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks. Fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their housemates Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment Assisting with toileting, including bedpans, urinals, and commode chairs Reminding/assisting client with self-administration of medications Encouraging self-help activities Reporting changes in client's condition or family situation to the office Performing home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning Planning meals, shopping for groceries, preparing and serving food/meals, feeding and clean-up Accompanying client to scheduled appointments Transporting clients or running errands for clients

Education Required

High School Diploma or GED: REQUIRED

Experience Required

Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)
